We. have recently been reporting on the funding battle for the government.

The GOP has cut a lot of pork after being pushed by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. The GOP presented a clean budget that funded the government until March and included disaster relief.

As we have reported, the bill was not passed. Mike Johnson is left with the task of coming up with Plan C.

38 Republicans, as well as the majority of Democrats, voted against it.

Musk blamed the failure on Hakeem Jeffreys (D-NY), the Minority Leader.

Now, the Democrats are to blame. They had a chance to pass disaster aid without pork. They can’t speak.

Vice President-elect JD Vance responded with a fiery response.

Warning: Graphic language

They voted for a shutdown of the government even though there was a clean CR because they did not want to give President Obama negotiating leverage in his first term. Number two, they’d rather shut down the government than fight for global censorship bullshit. They asked for a government shutdown, and I believe that’s what they will get

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-SC, explains why some Republicans voted against the bill.

What’s on those pages is more important than the number of them.

The debt ceiling has been suspended so there is no limit to the debt. I don’t believe that Congress or the government will spend responsibly if there are no limits.

I can’t vote for the same spending levels as Joe Biden even though Trump is president.

There would have been more support if the CR was very short and only took us up to the 20th of January or if there were single-subject votes on the expenditure measures in the bill.

We are in debt for $36 trillion. This must be done. Now or never.

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-KY, who voted against the bill wants one bill per item.
