Donald Trump’s nominations continue over the weekend. He has just added another name to his growing list. Trump’s latest announcement was on his choice to lead the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). It’s not a new face to the agency’s workings.

He wrote a statement on Sunday evening:

Brendan Carr, Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission, will soon be appointed Chairman. Currently, Commissioner Carr is the senior Republican at the FCC. Before that, he served as the FCC General Counsel. In 2017, I nominated Carr for the FCC. He has now been unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on three occasions. He has a current term that runs until 2029. Because of his outstanding work, I am now designating him to be the permanent Chairman.

Carr has been a champion of Free Speech and fought the regulatory Lawfare which has held back America’s Economy and stifled Americans Freedoms. He will stop the regulatory assault that has crippled America’s Innovators and Job Creators, and make sure that the FCC is delivering for rural America.

Since 2012, Commissioner Carr has been at the FCC, serving as an advisor to Ajit Pai, then Chairman of the FCC. In his early career, Carr was an attorney who specialized in appellate, litigation, and regulatory matters. Previously, Commissioner Carr worked as a clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Fourth Circuit under Judge Dennis Shedd. After completing his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, Commissioner Carr received his J.D. Magna Cum Laude was awarded to him by the Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, where he worked as Editor of the Catholic University Law Review. Brendan Carr, Chairman of the Board, deserves congratulations for a job very well done. Brendan, lead us to a bright future!

Commissioner Carr has responded to the announcement made on X.

He wrote:

Thank you, President Trump! I am honored and humbled to be the Chairman of the FCC. We must now get down to business.

Carr’s readers may remember that in early November, he called out the “SNL” show for allowing Democrat Presidential nominee Kamala to appear without giving Trump airtime. Carr was sure to point this out as he had done in the past, such as when he criticized TikTok, a social media platform aligned with CCP.

We will update you as soon as we have more information.
