Sean ‘Diddy Combs’ is fighting back against the prosecution to stop them from using evidence in his criminal case scheduled for New York in May.
In a filing made on Tuesday to the U.S. District Court of New York Southern District, his team of lawyers stated that they had reviewed 9 videos of “Freak Off” tapes, provided by New York prosecutors about a victim referred to as “Victim-1.”
According to Combs’ attorneys, the complaint is seeking electronic copies of videos which, among “fully consenting adults in a long-term relationship”, “confirm Mr. Combs’ innocence”.
Sources with knowledge of the case say that Combs’ lawyers are only allowed to view the videos “in the presence of a government official, and they can only see them but not keep”.

According to the document, the recordings were not part of the raids that took place on Combs’ properties last year. Instead, they were recorded “Victim-1”, and then given to the government for its criminal investigation.
“Moreover, contrary to innumerable sensationalistic media reports, the videos do not depict sex parties,” the document says. “There are no secret cameras, no orgies, no other celebrities involved, no underground tunnels, no minors, and not so much as a hint of coercion or violence.”
The U.S. attorney’s spokesperson declined to comment.

Combs has pleaded innocent and is being held at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting his May 5 trial.
Combs’ fallout started in November 2023 when his ex-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura filed a suit accusing him of sexual and physical abuse, as well as sex trafficking. The lawsuit was the first to mention the alleged “freak-offs” or sex parties. Ventura reached a settlement with Combs for an undisclosed amount.
CNN released months later a video showing Combs brutally punching and kicking Ventura in the hallway of a Los Angeles Hotel.
He apologized for the incident on social media and said that his behavior in the video was unforgivable. “I accept full responsibility for my actions in that video. It was disgusting when I did it, and I’m still disgusted. “
