The left is struggling to cope with Donald Trump’s election victory in 2024. Some celebrities have “moved” out of the country. We learned on Wednesday night that Ellen DeGeneres, the talk show host and comedian with her partner Portia De Rossi had moved to rural England. The truth is that they already owned their home in Great Britain. They are selling the Montecito estate in California.
But not all celebrities who said they were worried about Trump’s dictatorship leave the country. The majority are leaving X/Twitter. In the last few weeks, we have seen a steady stream of leftists making a big deal about the fact that the Elon Musk-owned platform is being replaced by the latest X alternative du jour: Bluesky. This is hilarious to me because I thought that alternative platforms such as Mastodon or the Meta-owned Threads would be the new echo chamber for the left on social media.
The transition isn’t going well.
Rob Reiner, a film producer and actor, has chosen Bluesky as his X-alternative. He wanted to get rid of all opposing views, but he is finding it difficult to live in an echo chamber.
“Anyone continuing to post hate towards me here will be blocked,” he posted on the platform on Saturday. “I escaped the other place for a more peaceful time.”
I’m having a hard time sleeping these days. He posted that it was 3:15 in the morning. “I’m laying in bed dreading the 20th of January 2025.”
On Sunday, the situation was not looking good when he said: “I need to make some big decisions.” I have to make big decisions for myself, my family, and my country.
The next day, things seemed to be better when he said, “After much-heated discussion with family, colleagues, and friends, I have decided that for my own sanity moving forward, I will accept what is going to happen.”
He said, “We as Americans have no other choice but to hope and allow Trump to unite these states after all these divisions years.” Aren’t you proud?
Reiner said that he will be spending his time on “family and work” to get through the Trump administration. He also revealed he has been adapting a script about which he feels “extremely passionate.”

Leftists who believe Trump is a dictator fascist will do this. Rob Reiner checked into a facility for peace and relaxation because he couldn’t deal with the reality of Trump winning. Yes, I was not thrilled with Barack Obama’s victory in 2008 or his reelection in 2012. It’s no surprise that the 2020 elections were not exactly memorable. You know what, though? It didn’t drive me to the edge. Even if it’s absurd for celebrities to flee the country because of Trump’s victory, why would they check into a mental hospital over an election? This shows how out of control the radical left is.
