Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially divorced.

According to court documents, Lopez filed for dissolution of marriage on August 20, 2024.

According to the documents, Lopez will retain her engagement ring with a green diamond that Affleck gave her in 2021 after they rekindled their romance.

The documents stated that Affleck had “disclaimed and waived all rights, title, and interests in and to the following asset hereby confirmed and transferred” to Lopez. This included her “clothing and jewelry as well as miscellaneous items of personal property in her possession or custody.”

Lopez has previously spoken about the meaning of the color of the ring, describing it as her lucky and favorite color.

It means so much to me when someone cares for me, sees and loves my face,” she said in a video sent in April 2022 to subscribers of her On the JLo channel. “I’m feeling so lucky. You don’t get second chances at love very often.

Lopez and Affleck were married in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 16, 2022. According to documents, they split up two years later, on April 16, 2024. Lopez cited irreconcilable differences as the cause of their breakup.

Lopez and Affleck have no children together. The “This Is Me… Now’ singer, however, is proud to be a mom of her twins Max and Emme who are 16 years old. She shares them with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Affleck, on the other hand, looks after three children, Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and Samuel (12) with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

In an interview with Interview Magazine in October, Lopez discussed her new relationship status after filing for divorce.

Lopez told the comedian that she is “excited” about being single again after her “whole f—ing universe exploded” in 2024.

She said that she was not looking for anyone, and added that the summer before had taught her to “be good on her own.”

“I thought that I had learned it, but I hadn’t. Then, this summer I was like, “I have to go out and be by myself.” She said, “I want to prove to myself that I am capable of doing that.”
