According to police, an FBI Special Agent has been arrested and accused of sexually abusing two women in Montgomery County, Maryland.
Special agent Eduardo Valdivia is 40 years old and charged with 10 counts including two counts of second-degree rape.
Court records indicate that the alleged assaults took place between May 2024 and September 2024.
Valdivia has been taken into custody at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. He is due to appear in district court for a hearing on Tuesday.
The FBI takes all allegations of criminal misconduct and violations very seriously. The FBI Washington Field Office has confirmed that it is aware of the matter regarding the arrest of an FBI agent and that they are cooperating fully with the Montgomery County Police Department.
The statement stated, “Regarding Eduardo Valdivia’s employment, he has been suspended until the Montgomery County Police Department concludes its investigation.”
Valdivia had been charged with attempted murder for a shooting that occurred in 2020 after a verbal argument on a Metro train. Security cameras captured the incident.
After a trial, a jury in Montgomery County found Valdivia guilty in this case in 2022.
