Conan O’Brien, announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Friday, will host the Oscars in 2025. This is his first time to host the star-studded award show.

“Taco Bell has launched a new cheesy chalupa supreme. The American public demanded this and it is now available. I’m hosting the Oscars,” said the Emmy award-winning television host and writer.

O’Brien’s most famous work is hosting “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, from 1993 to 2009. He took over after David Letterman’s resignation, and then “Conan”, from 2010 to 2021. He was also a writer on “Saturday Night Live”, “The Simpsons” and “Saturday Night Live”.

He has been hosting the podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” since 2018. He has also appeared in “Conan O’Brien Must Go” on Max.

The 97th Academy Awards are scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 2, 2020, live at the Dolby Theater at Ovation, Hollywood, at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PT, on ABC. It will be broadcast in more than 200 countries worldwide.
