Chris Wallace announced his departure from Fox News. He left the network for CNN’s competitor network in January 2022, to see how the market would be.
Wallace feared that Trump’s victory and his potential control over both houses could lead to “unchecked power”.
Perhaps he was worried about those journo gulags the liberal media has been warning about. Anyway, we kid because we care, Chris.
Wallace informed The Daily Beast that he will be leaving his three-year contract after it ends because he’s interested in podcasting or streaming. He said, “This seems to be where all the action has been.”
He said that he was inspired by the success of podcasters Charlamagne and Joe Rogan to take a different direction. But he did not believe he would have such a wide reach.
He shouldn’t.
Chris Wallace decided not to continue his role at a time when ratings for election night have dramatically dropped across all traditional media outlets. It is shocking to learn this, given the attention paid to whether a cat lady of mediocre intelligence can stop Hitler’s rise.
Fox News had 9.8 million prime-time viewers on Election Night. MSNBC was second with 5.5 million viewers. CNN was the last with only 4.7million views.
These numbers show massive drops. Fox dropped by 31 percent. MSNBC fell by 29 percent. CNN was down by nearly 50 percent. Both sides of the political spectrum are not trusting mainstream media outlets. Instead, they prefer to look for facts and information elsewhere.
Elon Musk CEO of X has repeatedly said on his social media platform, “You are the media.”
Chris Wallace’s CNN experiment has been a total failure.
Wallace has been hired as the Network’s face.
CNN stated that Wallace is “one of the few high-profile reporters who maintain a reputation for honesty, while Fox heavily leans towards right-wing programming” and conspiracy theories. “
A broadcaster who heavily favors left-wing conspiracy programs makes a rich statement.
The Emmy Award-winning anchor was set to be the face of CNN’s streaming service, CNN+, and he ended up hosting two separate weekend programs — “Who’s Talking with Chris Wallace?” and “The Chris Wallace Show.”
Would it have been better to say, “Who watches Chris Wallace?” Both shows have low ratings and Newsmax has often struggled to surpass the former.
What happened to the streaming service for which he was supposed to be the face?
CNN+ has had a rough run. Wallace had “daily breakdowns” only weeks after the network’s launch.
Wallace, who was reportedly lured away from Fox News with a $9m contract per year, put on a brave face after CNN+ crashed. He said he had no regrets because he’d be “fine.”
He said: “I don’t care if I’m on CNN, or anywhere else. “
Trump has moved on from the election coverage and his victory.
According to The Daily Beast, he stated that his departure had been “quite liberating”.
“I feel liberated and excited about it,” he told the publication. “
Six of your viewers will have the same feeling.
